Agribusiness

PROGRAM DEFINITION
The Agribusiness Program is a joint program between the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and the College of Business Administration. The program is designed to prepare you to be a professional and/or entrepreneur with the educational background, experiences, and savvy to become a successful decision-maker in the rapidly changing agribusiness world.

  • First Agribusiness Program nation-wide that is joint between two colleges--Business Administration and Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources
  • Ranks as one of the top three programs in terms of undergraduate curriculum and student activities.
  • An International Study minor builds a strong understanding of agriculture and natural resources on a global scale.
  • Annual Industry Tour provides networking contacts with professional leaders in the agribusiness industry.
  • Readily available internship experiences provide valuable real-world learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting.
  • Students benefit from a one-on-one working relationship with faculty advisers and mentors—through advising, research projects, and campus jobs.
  • Home to the UNL National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA)—named outstanding chapter nation-wide in 2005.
  • Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness Club (AEAC)—provides networking opportunities with agribusiness professionals, faculty and other students nation-wide. The Nebraska AEAC Quiz Bowl Team has placed in the top five teams the last three years running and had the top undergraduate students in two of the past three years.

FACILITIES
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln split-campus environment allows you to choose a campus feel that fits you. With classes on both campuses, you’ll experience the smaller college atmosphere of East Campus and the busier, more cosmopolitan City Campus. The Department of Agricultural Economics, home to the Agribusiness Program is located on East Campus in H.C. Filley Hall where you will find student computer labs, a research library, and an Undergraduate Program Office dedicated to helping you find the perfect mix of opportunities and learning experiences to develop and meet your career goals.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students must meet the admission requirements of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to be admitted to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
