The economic environment faced by producers, agribusiness firms, and public-and private-sector agencies and organizations is characterized by constant change. Effective responses to this challenging transition in the agricultural industry require professionals who are creative, adaptable and well trained in economics, management, and policy analysis.

The Department of Agricultural Economics, is located on East Campus in H.C. Filley Hall where you will find student computer labs, a research/reading library, and an Undergraduate Program Office dedicated to helping you find the perfect mix of opportunities and learning experiences to develop and meet your career goals.
- Three program options, tailored to your interests:
- General Option – designed for students who prefer a flexible program that focuses on basic economic principles in agriculture and agribusiness.
- Farm and Ranch Management Option – emphasizes economic and business aspects of production, marketing and management in agriculture.
- Public Policy Option – focuses on the economic analysis of policy issues related to agriculture by combining agribusiness, economics, and political science areas.
- An International Study minor builds a strong understanding of agriculture and natural resources on a global scale.
- Annual Industry Tour and internship experiences provide networking contacts with professional leaders and valuable real-world learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom setting.
- Students benefit from a one-on-one working relationship with faculty advisers and mentors—through advising, research projects, and campus jobs.
- Home to UNL’s National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA)—named outstanding chapter nation-wide in 2005.
- Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness Club (AEAC)—provides networking opportunities with professionals, faculty and other students nation-wide. The Nebraska AEAC Quiz Bowl Team has placed in the top five teams the last three years running and had the top undergraduate student in two of the past three years.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students must meet the admission requirements of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to be admitted to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
