Mechanized Systems Management
The mechanized systems management major at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is designed to develop managerial and mechanical skills which can be applied to food, fiber, feed and fuel production and processing in Nebraska and throughout the world. There is a growing need to manage mechanical systems in agriculture as they continue to increase in complexity. At NU, practical courses stress efficient use of our soil, water and energy resources without compromising the environment. This major is administered through the Department of Biological Systems Engineering.
PROGRAM
As a mechanized systems management major you will study a core curriculum consisting of 24 credit hours of agricultural technology, 26 credit hours of science and math, and 8-10 credit hours of free electives. In addition, you can choose one of five options for specialization: Agricultural Operations, Mechanization Science, Processing Operations, or Mechanization Marketing.
