PROGRAM DEFINITION
Increased public awareness of environmental issues, including heightened awareness of environmental issues, new environmental regulations, growing costs of compliance with these regulations and significant penalties for violating them mean that the need for employees with training in environmental and natural resource economics is expanding rapidly.

The Natural Resource and Environmental Economics major combines in-depth study of the natural sciences with economics, law and other social sciences. In addition, the program emphasizes the assessment of public policies regulating the use of natural resources and environmental amenities.

FACILITIES
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln split-campus environment allows you to choose a campus feel that fits you. With classes on both campuses, you’ll experience the smaller college environment of East Campus and the busier, more cosmopolitan feel of City Campus.

The Department of Agricultural Economics, home to the Natural Resource and Environmental Economics major, is located on East Campus in H.C. Filley Hall where you will find student computer labs, a research/reading library, and an Undergraduate Program Office dedicated to helping you find the perfect mix of opportunities and learning experiences to develop and meet your career goals. You also have access to resources and faculty in the School of Natural Resources, also located on East Campus.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students must meet the admission requirements of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to be admitted to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
