Students are required to have Internet access (high-speed connection is preferred) and e-mail.
Continuing education provides opportunities for individuals to become leaders in their career areas, as well as increasing the likelihood of business success. Often an individual desiring a graduate education or advanced study is limited by time and location constraints. Educational and industry seminars are often available but are often limited in scope and do not lead to an advanced degree. Distance programming at UNL could potentially bridge the gap between turfgrass managers and cutting edge research/leadership/business management strategies. Depending on an individual student’s personal goals and professional objectives, emphasis in Leadership, Entomology of Agronomy could lead to advancement within their existing facility, expand employment opportunities in other arenas or result in improved knowledge and job performance and subsequently improved evaluations and monetary incentives.
