The CASNR Cares program provides a single contact for parents, students, faculty and staff seeking assistance in navigating the university’s student services programs. The primary goal is to ensure that each student becomes acclimated to the campus environment, engaged in their own education and has every opportunity to be successful. It also provides a significant resource for family and faculty/staff to identify students that may need assistance in enhancing their educational experience.

"CASNR Cares is more than a name of a program, it is the truth. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt like I was far more than a number, and that administration, faculty, and staff wanted me to succeed. The loss of my mother during my first semester at college was difficult for to absorb and adjust to. Sue helped me contact my professors, reschedule finals, and she was there when I just needed someone to talk to. Having people that cared about me as a person and as a student allowed me to overcome the situation and excel at college. Without this program, I am not sure that the outcome would have been as promising."

In cases where students must be away from campus due to health or family emergencies, Sue will gather information and can contact the instructors for the classes of the student, letting them know of the student's situation. She will also stay in contact with the student after hearing from the instructors and update the faculty on the return of the student to classes. Both the student and the faculty members appreciate the information that is provided which helps the student stay currect in the class.
