The Membership Nominating Committee solicits your nomination of graduate students, faculty, managerial/professional staff, and alumni for membership in Gamma Sigma Delta.
We rely on your help to ensure that Gamma Sigma Delta recognizes worthy co-workers and graduate students for their contributions in agricultural sciences, natural resources, nutrition and health sciences, textiles, clothing and design or family and consumer sciences. Nominations are requested for graduate students, faculty, managerial/professional staff, and alumni. Membership guidelines follow:
- Graduate students who meet all the following requirements:
- Show superior ability to carry on research and/or advanced study in agricultural sciences, natural resources, nutrition and health sciences, textiles, clothing and design or family and consumer sciences or in other sciences where the individual student’s area of study or research is directly related to those areas
- Show promise of making worthwhile contributions in these fields
- Completed 2/5 of the required hours for the advanced degree being sought, either at the Masters or PhD level
- Attained a grade average of B or equivalent or better for graduate work toward an advanced degree
- Staff who meet all the following requirements:
- University of Nebraska employee for at least three years
- Engaged in work in the professional areas of agricultural sciences, natural resources, nutrition and health sciences, textiles, clothing and design or family and consumer sciences for a period of at least three years
- Faculty who meet the following requirement
- Engaged in work in the professional areas of agricultural sciences, natural resources, nutrition and health sciences, textiles, clothing and design or family and consumer sciences for a period of at least three years
- Alumni who meet all of the following requirements
- Shown outstanding work in or service to agricultural sciences, natural resources, nutrition and health sciences, textiles, clothing and design or family and consumer sciences
- Graduated from the University of Nebraska or an institution with a Gamma Sigma Delta chapter
- Graduated at least five years prior to election to membership
