I came to UNL because of my interest and passion for animals and agriculture, but mainly my draw was towards the Engler Entrepreneurship program. I believe that attending UNL has allowed me to network and build relationships that will propel me into a successful future. I encourage future CASNR students to explore all that the college has to offer!

My favorite thing about CASNR is that everybody knows everybody; we all share a common interest about agriculture. The Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management major is so appealing to me because I have always enjoyed events and also because the opportunities are limitless. The Engler Entrepreneur program, combined with my Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management major, has allowed me to blend my wide range of interests into potential career avenues. Overall, my favorite thing about CASNR was the opportunity provided through the program to study abroad in New Zealand for three weeks with a group of friends and other fellow CASNR students.

Life outside of school is quite interesting. I have been involved with and showing horses for about 12 years throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and other states. I love showing competitively and I can say I have completed a take home test for an agricultural economics class, sitting outside an arena in Denver, in my chaps, and spurs. I have started to team rope locally, continue to help my family on our farm, and help my sisters manage our small cow calf herd and our 20+ horses at home. Over the years I have played bass guitar, sang, and played violin at weddings and other special occasions. During the weekends I work at a local vineyard and help assist in planning various events from concerts to weddings.
