In 2012, at range camp, I made the decision to come the UNL for the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship program. After finding out that our horticulture department is one of the best in the nation it confirmed my decision. The Horticulture major with the Entrepreneurship option was the perfect mixture of business and plants/flowers, two of my favorite things.

Personally, I think I had the most fun major on campus, but I am biased. The horticulture department provided me with hands-on experience, while developing me professionally. Rather than sitting in a classroom, often you will find a class of horticulturalists learning outside or in a greenhouse. Another great advantage of being in the Agronomy-Horticulture department is the great relationships you can build with professors, and fellow students. The professors are very personable, and most classes are small enough for you to know everyone by the end of the semester.
