Cultivando Caminos (Cultivating Paths) is an event for underrepresented high school students interested in careers in agriculture, food, natural resources and related sciences. Cultivando Caminos is designed to connect students of underrepresented communities to college students, faculty and professionals. The purpose of this conference is to encourage students to envision and empower them to pursue careers tied to the agricultural industry.

Elijah Riley is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communication and a minor in Entrepreneurship through the Engler Program. He is a passionate advocate for connection and conservation. A Lincoln native and Lincoln High School graduate, Elijah is the founder of Big Gumdrop Outdoors (BGO), which is a nonprofit organization aiming to bridge the access gap between urban youth and the outdoors, empowering young people to connect with nature and break generational cycles. His love for travel and learning from diverse cultures has deepened his appreciation for how people and the environment are interconnected. As a storyteller, educator, and conservationist, Elijah is committed to inspiring others to build bridges that create lasting opportunities for future generations.
