The purpose of this conceptual program is to facilitate the easy transition of students completing an Associates degree at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) into the UNL Online Bachelors of Applied Science (BAS) program (http://appliedscience.unl.edu/online-bachelors-degree-completion).
These are the basic operating parameters of the concept:
1. In their sophomore year, NCTA students should apply for admission into the BAS program.
2. Students participating in this program are enrolled at UNL as online students and pay tuition and fees to UNL according to standard procedures.
3. Participants are in residence at Curtis and have full access to standard support services available to NCTA students according to these details:
a. students may choose to stay in the residence hall and eat in the dining hall by paying standard fees
b. library services will be available at no cost
c. computer access will be available from NCTA at no cost
d. students will be required to pay the UNL technology fee
e. students may participate in athletic activities and student support activities according to the same parameters as NCTA students
4. NCTA will provide accompanying recitations for selected UNL courses to facilitate the easy transition of students completing the Online Bachelors of Applied Science program.
NCTA students will need to meet UNL's admission standards. Students must satisfy any deficiencies before graduating with a BAS degree. As part of this cooperative agreement, NACTA will provide courses for removing any deficiencies their students may have (See http://bulletin.unl.edu/undergraduate/major/Applied+Science for admission requirements).
