Building Lifelong Learners

Scholars students

CASNR’s scholars programs provide opportunities for students to meet and interact with other students sharing interests and career goals. A focus on experiential learning and mentorship helps build lifelong learners.

AgFutures

AgFutures is a First-Year living-learning community on East Campus. Students live in the Massengale Residential Center, take a set of common classes, and participate in regular seminars and focused field trips in/near Lincoln to engage with leaders and entrepreneurs. Students will learn about entrepreneurship, leadership, service, and how they intersect to help build strong communities. AgFutures students are mentored by CASNR faculty and staff, and an upperclass peer mentor.

Justin Smith Morrill Scholars

Justin Smith Morrill Scholars program at UNL is a co-curricular opportunity for undergraduate students who are interested in advancing the public good through social and civic responsibility while exploring ideas and solutions to solve critical issues related to food, fuel, water, landscapes, and human health.Students in the program have the opportunity to do a service-learning project in Strafford, VT where the homestead of Justin Smith Morrill is located.
