Engage Beyond the Classroom
The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) offers a variety of ways to be involved in your education beyond the classroom walls. You may choose to perform research alongside our world-class faculty, build your entrepreneurial dreams, connect with like-minded students, or play a little ultimate frisbee. At UNL and CASNR, we have experiences for all those interests.
Alumni & Giving
CASNR is blessed with advocates who take an active interest in the future of the College. These people consist of alumni of the College who attended or graduated from CASNR, and friends of the College who may be spouses of alumni, faculty, or others who want to be a part of alumni activities.
Research Opportunities
Important contributions come from CASNR every year to improve agriculture, food industries, environment, well-being of families and community development. Research for these areas occurs in fields, feedlots, nature, homes, yards, cities, and towns. Students are invited to work side-by-side with faculty in many areas to improve life in the state, nation, and world. Research is done in the classroom, through the UCARE program, Discovery Corps, and the Undergraduate Honors Student Research Program.
Student Clubs & Organizations
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln offers students more than 500 clubs and organizations. In addition to the University-wide organizations, CASNR supports a number of organizations that relate directly to our student's interests. Each of these experiences offers students a way to learn more about their major, their community or themselves. Engaging with other students through these opportunities opens your mind to new possibilities for career or life outside the university.
Scholars Programs
CASNR’s scholars programs provide opportunities for students a chance to meet and interact with other students sharing interests and career goals. A focus on experiential learning and mentorship helps build lifelong learners.
